Description
Health Science Day is an immersive career exploration experience designed to introduce high school students to the diverse and rewarding opportunities available in the healthcare field. Through a series of interactive, hands-on learning stations, participants engage in activities such as the Aging Experience, rehabilitation challenges, virtual reality clinical simulations, healthcare career exploration, and speed networking with healthcare professionals. The program culminates with a healthcare career panel, where students receive practical guidance on educational and career pathways, including college programs, certifications, and licensure options. This engaging experience will enhance career awareness while helping students connect classroom learning to real-world healthcare professions.

Objectives

At the completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Describe a variety of healthcare careers and the educational pathways required to enter those professions.
  • Understand patient care and healthcare delivery through hands-on healthcare simulations and experiential learning activities.
  • Identify skills, certifications, and educational requirements associated with healthcare career pathways through interaction with healthcare professionals.
