Description
This orientation will introduce students to the Health Careers Academy and provide an overview of the opportunities, expectations, and requirements for the program year. Students will learn about career exploration modules, community service hours, informational interviews, virtual seminars, and projects such as Pathways Connect. Participants will also gain an understanding of program timelines, assignment requirements, and available resources to help them successfully complete the academy. By the end of the orientation, students will be prepared to begin their journey of exploring healthcare careers and developing professional skills.
Objectives

At the completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Identify the requirements, expectations, and opportunities available through the Health Careers Academy program.
  • Describe the purpose of key program components, including career exploration modules, informational interviews, community service hours, virtual seminars, and Pathways Connect projects.
