Description
This program will discuss effective ways to talk with teens about drug use. It will also take a look at ADHD, Depression and other conditions that teens self-medicate.
Objectives

At the completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Define Adolescents and discuss possible reasons they would use drugs.
  • Identify controversial issues surrounding marijuana use.
  • Discuss "Emotional Detachment" in adolescents.
  • Discuss ADHD, Depression and other conditions that teens and adults self-medicate.
  • Identify techniques to assist medical professionals when counseling adolescents about drug use.
Disclosures
The Rural Communities Opioid Response Program (RCORP) is a multi-year initiative supported by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) to address barriers to access in rural communities related to substance use disorder, including opioid use disorder.
