Description
This 2-day course is a certification review course for pediatric nurses looking to earn their pediatric certification. Growth and development and disease processes will be the primary focus, along with a helpful overview of the two different certification exams and study tips.

Objectives

At the completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Compare the ANCC Pediatric Certification exam to the PNCB Pediatric Certification exam with test-taking strategies.
  • Review attributes of the pediatric patient.
  • Discuss assessment tools for the pediatric patient.
  • Examine pediatric pathophysiology with treatment modalities.
  • Determine diagnostic tests or screenings.
  • Analyze outcome measures.
  • Support the pediatric patient as part of the family unit.
  • Contrast legal with ethical considerations when caring for the pediatric patient.
  • Summarize chronic disease management.
