Description
This training provides practitioners with an in-depth exploration of attachment needs and their critical role in shaping safety, trust, and resilience within the therapeutic process. Drawing from core principles of attachment theory, the course emphasizes how clinicians can recognize and respond to attachment needs in children, adolescents, and adults—particularly those impacted by trauma. Participants will learn practical strategies to weave attachment-informed practices into sessions, including fostering attunement, co-regulation, and secure relational patterns. The training also integrates opportunities for self-reflection on personal attachment styles, highlighting how a clinician’s own relational lens influences therapeutic presence and connection. By addressing both theory and applied practice, this training equips professionals to create safe, attuned environments that promote healing, deepen client connection, and support the trauma recovery process.
Objectives

At the completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Integrate attachment theory principles into therapeutic practice by identifying client attachment needs and incorporating strategies that foster safety, connection, and trust.
  • Demonstrate techniques for attunement and co-regulation that strengthen the therapeutic alliance, support trauma processing, and promote relational healing.
  • Engage in self-reflection to explore their own attachment style and understand how it shapes clinical interactions, therapeutic presence, and the ability to meet client needs effectively.
