Description
This program will introduce students to the field of dental medicine and career opportunities within dental care. Students will explore educational pathways, build awareness of essential skills, and learn about the roles of professionals working in different dental care settings.

Objectives

At the completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Identify career opportunities within the field of dental medicine.
  • Describe the different work settings where dental professionals practice.
  • Describe roles of the dental team.

The sessions are presented as part of the South Carolina AHEC Health Careers Program targeted at high school, undergraduate, and gap year pre-health students. A certificate of participation is only given to those who attend and complete an evaluation. This program does not meet professional development requirements for practicing health professionals.
