Description
Hypertension is a long-recognized health burden in the US, and particularly the southeastern region of the US. Recent treatment guidelines have been developed to categorize blood pressure levels and treatment. This program addresses the implementation of the guidelines in primary care settings with a special focus for clinics serving underserved patient populations. This program focuses on assessment of hypertension, secondary hypertension, and target organ damage. CME accreditation expiration date: 11/22/2024
Objectives
At the completion of this activity, participants will be able to:
Examine assessing the impact of guideline implementation and reimbursement
Discuss employing the electronic health records in the primary care setting
Describe hypertension diagnosis in the primary care clinic
Discuss assessing secondary hypertension as part of management of hypertension in primary care
Discuss hypertension treatment option aligned with comorbidities in the primary care clinic
Discuss assessing target organ damage for hypertension management in the primary care setting
