Description

This course has been designed to provide healthcare professionals with practical knowledge regarding the cardiac system, obtaining EKGs, and recognizing the changes on the 12-lead EKG and how they correlate to changes in coronary perfusion. Course content will include information of cardiac anatomy and electrical conduction system; EKG waveforms, EKG interpretation of myocardial infarctions and bundle branch blocks; as well as the recognition and treatment of the MI patient.

Objectives

At the completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

• Describe the major anatomical functions of the heart.
• Identify essentials of the electrocardiogram.
• Identify coronary perfusion abnormalities.
• Describe methods of restoring cardiac perfusion.
