This two-day course provides critical care nurses with a review of the core curriculum needed to master the Critical Care Registered Nurse certification. Using the American Association of Critical Care Nurses’ certification blueprint, the review will focus on pathophysiology and nursing intervention for critically ill patients. 2 Days - 8:30am - 4:30pm

At the completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Discuss preparation for the exam.
  • Describe cardiovascular system guidelines as defined by American Association for Critical Care Nurses (AACN) Critical Care Nursing Certification (CCRN) templates.
  • Explain hematology guidelines as defined by AACN-CCRN.
  • Outline endocrine system guidelines as defined by AACN-CCRN templates.
  • Discuss gastrointestinal (GI) system guidelines as defined by AACN-CCRN.
  • Explain pulmonary system guidelines as defined by AACN-CCRN templates.
  • Explain synergy in patient care.
  • Describe renal system guidelines as defined by AACN-CCRN templates.
  • Discuss patient behavioral as well as psychosocial needs.
  • Identify neurology system guidelines as defined by AACN-CCRN templates.
  • Explain multi system organ failure concerns as defined by AACN-CCRN templates.
