Description
This training provides practitioners with a comprehensive understanding of the Systems of Care (SOC) framework, an approach designed to improve outcomes for children, youth, and families through coordinated, community-driven services. Participants will learn how to effectively engage with cross-sector partners, leverage community resources, and integrate services in ways that promote equity, cultural responsiveness, and family empowerment. The course emphasizes honoring the unique strengths and voices of families while building collaborative networks that address the social, emotional, and practical needs of clients. By the end of this training, participants will be equipped with practical strategies to reduce service fragmentation, foster meaningful partnerships, and ensure clients and families remain at the center of decision-making and service delivery.
Objectives

At the completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Demonstrate strategies for collaborative engagement with community partners across child welfare, behavioral health, education, and other systems to create a seamless and supportive network of care.
  • Apply a holistic, strengths-based approach to service planning that addresses the interconnected needs of children and families, including mental health, social support, education, housing, and cultural identity.
  • Integrate family voice and choice into all aspects of service delivery by honoring family values, empowering caregivers as decision-makers, and promoting practices that are culturally responsive and family-driven.
