Description
Hypertension or high blood pressure is the most prevalent modifiable risk factor for the development of cardiovascular disease. Hypertension affects approximately half of all U.S. adults increasing their risk of heart attack, stroke, and the development of heart failure, chronic kidney disease, and dementia. Despite its widespread prevalence, hypertension is typically asymptomatic and under-treated. Only about one in four adults diagnosed with hypertension have their elevated blood pressure under control. This interprofessional continuing education program will update participants on the new American College of Cardiology / American Heart Association (ACC/AHA) 2025 guidelines for treating high blood pressure and analyze recent hypertension clinical studies that recommend changes in current practice.

Keywords: hypertension, htn, pharmacy, np, kelly jones
