Description
Trauma can impact many if not all clients we work with.  This training will provide an introduction to trauma and the need to address trauma with those we serve.  This training will provide an overview of trauma impacts, some models and approaches used for trauma, this will also help clinicians build a base foundation to work with clients with trauma.  We will discuss experiences with working with clients with trauma, comfortability, and ways to address impacts of trauma without doing specific trauma work. This is a two-day training. Participants must attend both days in order to receive a certificate and their credits. The WebEx link for both classes will be sent out the day before the trainings take place.

Keywords: trauma, clients, clinicians, social work

At the completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Share experiences of working with clients who have experienced trauma and reflect on your comfort level in handling such situations.
