Description
This presentation will share findings from the 2026 Community Health Workers’ Experiences with Suicide Prevention survey. The presentation will provide an overview of CHWs’ experiences, including exposure to suicide within their roles, suicide prevention training received, and attitudes and confidence related to working with clients, patients, and program recipients who may be experiencing suicidal thoughts. The presentation will also highlight key findings and discuss what they may mean for CHW training and support.

Objectives

At the completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Describe CHWs’ experiences with suicide and suicide prevention, including exposure to suicide and suicide prevention training.
  • Summarize key findings related to CHWs’ knowledge, attitudes, and confidence in supporting individuals who may be experiencing suicidal thoughts.
  • Examine opportunities to strengthen suicide prevention training and support for CHWs.
