Description
This course identifies implicit bias as a key obstacle to cultural competency. The goal of this training is to raise awareness of the link between implicit bias and microaggressions. Instruction also includes the steps individuals can take to prevent biased attitudes and behaviors from interfering with decision-making and workplace interactions.

Objectives

At the completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Define implicit bias.
  • Describe how implicit bias affects behavior in the workplace.
  • Discuss the link between implicit bias and microaggressions.
  • Review microaggressions and their impacts.
  • Identify strategies to reduce implicit bias and disrupt microaggressions.
