Description
The health of our mothers and babies serves as an indicator of the overall health of our community. This online module provides an overview of the maternal and infant health issues in South Carolina and community-based resources which can be used to improve maternal and infant health outcomes in our state.
Objectives

At the completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Discuss current maternal health trends in South Carolina.
  • Recognize challenges for maternal care in rural and underserved communities in South Carolina.
  • Identify resources in South Carolina to help women before, during, and after pregnancy.

The Health Equity Initiative is part of a national project by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), supported by funding through the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act.
