Join Dr. Lesley Kirby, Audiologist and owner of Lifetime Hearing Services - the premier hearing healthcare facility in the Pee Dee region for an engaging and interactive course focused on the critical connection between hearing health and overall wellness. With over 35 years of experience and offices in Florence, Camden, and Hartsville, Dr. Kirby brings unmatched expertise and passion to the field of audiology. This fun, practical session will explore current hearing healthcare practices, the impact of untreated hearing loss on physical and cognitive health, and the transformative benefits of modern hearing solutions. Participants will gain insight into hearing aids, cochlear implants, and other assistive technologies, including how to identify strong candidates and support optimal outcomes in various clinical settings. Whether you're a seasoned provider or new to hearing health, you'll walk away with actionable knowledge to better support your patients' long-term health and quality of life.
Objectives

At the completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Explain the connection between hearing health and overall physical and cognitive wellness.
  • Identify the signs of hearing loss and understand the importance of early intervention.
  • Describe current hearing aid technologies and their role in improving patient outcomes.
  • Understand the basics of cochlear implants, including candidacy criteria and benefits.
  • Apply practical strategies to collaborate with audiologists for integrated patient care.
  • Recognize the broader public health implications of untreated hearing loss.
