Description
This cancer disparities- focused Continuing Medical Education (CME) Workshop for health professionals is designed to improve the quality of cancer care in South Carolina and to bridge the gap in healthcare. During this three-hour workshop, lectures will focus on rural cancer disparities, advanced glycation end-products (AGEs), breast cancer disparities, and prostate cancer. At the completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

The South Carolina Cancer Disparities Research Center is an inter-institutional partnership between South Carolina State University (SCSU) and the Medical University of South Carolina Hollings Cancer Center. Incorporating community engagement, these two institutions will build a lasting, sustainable, translational cancer research structure at SCSU and further strengthen a research education pipeline that will catalyze a new diverse generation of cancer researchers.
