Description
The Safe Patient Handling and Mobility (SPHM) Summit of the Carolinas covers a spectrum of crucial topics in healthcare. Speakers will highlight innovative technologies, evidence-based practices, and collaborative approaches to enhance safety. We will emphasize a multidisciplinary approach to patient care, integrating mobility, bariatrics, skin integrity, patient engagement, fall prevention, and ergonomic considerations for the well-being of both patients and healthcare providers.

Objectives

At the completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • explain how safe mobility practices contribute to improved patient recovery and overall clinical outcomes.
  • identify strategies to reduce hospital-acquired injuries through the implementation of effective safe patient handling and mobility (SPHM) practices.
  • describe the impact of consistent safe mobility practices on decreasing hospital length of stay for patients.
  • recognize the benefits of safe mobility practices in enhancing both patient well-being and staff safety across care settings.
