Description
Join us for a one-day, grant-funded professional development opportunity designed for administrators and staff working in assisted living and residential care settings. This interactive workshop will explore how strong advocacy and inter-agency collaboration can improve care outcomes for residents. This workshop underscores how quality training directly enhances the quality of care in long-term care communities. We invite you to connect, collaborate, and return to your facility with renewed knowledge, tools, and energy.

Objectives

At the completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program with additional information on how our the SC Appalachian Council of Governments can assist facility staff with resident and family councils.
  • Understand facility regulations and common issues seen by the regulatory agency.
  • Understand “APS 101”, the procedures of Adult Protective Services, and DSS custody of facility residents.
  • Understand SC Medicaid Waiver Programs and the OSS/OSCAP Program
