Professional Education Programs
Connecting Providers to Education
The South Carolina AHEC Continuing Professional Development (CPD) program provides practicing healthcare professionals with continuing education seminars, workshops, lectures, and telecasts. All four Regional AHEC Centers employ CPD Coordinators from various health professions disciplines whose principal role is to assess, develop, and present continuing education programs to health professionals in their regions. National, regional, and local experts are used as lecturers and consultants. The South Carolina AHEC CPD Coordinators work closely with hospital education departments, regional health professionals, associations and agencies, and educational institutions to deliver educational programs. The life-long learning provided through the South Carolina AHEC follows a set of “Best Practice Standards” designed by the CPD Coordinators to assure quality in programming.
CPD programming is available throughout the state in various formats: live, in-person programs; live, statewide videoconference programs; and online enduring video programs.
