Trends in the Size and Distribution of the South Carolina Physician Workforce: 2009-2017

This brief describes the growth in South Carolina's physician workforce. It also describes changes in the supply of physicians in metropolitan, micropolitan and nonmetropolitan counties over time. While the growth in the total physician workforce has kept pace with the growth in population, findings show that this growth is slower in the state's nonmetropolitan counties.
